Once my American friend asked me 'Is it possible to master a foreign language on my own?' I was puzzled... To master any language without a teacher one should be provided with great amount of materials to practice with. Then the idea of creating this site came to my mind. The site 'Russian as foreign language' would be an answer to my American friend's question.
I'm a fifth-year student in one of the Moscow's universities. I am studying for a translator from Russian into English and vice versa and I am to be graduated this school year. This site is a collection of the various materials and links, which I hope will help you to learn Russian language.
Don't know where to start from? See 'For Beginners' section, read the article 'Why study Russian?' and history of the Russian language, pronounce Russian Alphabet and examine Interactive Russian language Grammar. On the site you can find information about Language schools, societies, events, books concerning the Russian Language. To determine your Russian level see 'Tests', to check a word go to 'Dictionaries'. I'll always be glad to help you in your studying Russian. If you have any problems or questions, please send me an e-mail.
